Video + Review: Street Art Cookbook

Street Art Cookbook aims to do it all. It claims to be "the complete do-it-yourself guide to street art." I was excited to see a book that helps aspiring street artists with their desires to create art in public spaces. But can it really do it all?

Street Art Cookbook
Street Art Cookbook is a nice hardcover and is compact. As soon as I got it, I delved right into reading it. I was very impressed. It covers a lot! You get instructions on how to make posters and also your own paste for wheat pasting. It discusses the right way of creating stencils from start to finish. It shows you how to do screen printing, make your own stickers and even how to make your own markers.

Not only does each section have instructions and visuals (i.e., pictures of stencils), it also has commentaries from street artists involved in that medium. Street artists from around the world, including France, Brazil, Sweden and the United States, share their insights. This book is made by street artists for street artists.

The book delivers as promised. You can pick up Street Art Cookbook on Amazon.

For an older dude, you don't even know how to spell. You still write like a 12 year old. "wat", "zerox" - my favorite, "there" instead of they are, or they're, "alot". It's obvious you are a loser.

And on another tip, since when are there rules about getting up? Do what you like. Get up any way you can.

Funny. clowning that old dude.

doesn't matter what i write i was making a point how today's writer want everything handed to the they don't take time in practicing there style everyone just wants to grab a can and start tagging i go down the freeways and check out some cool spots that people hit up and they look like a bunch of little kids hit the wall its just sad no one takes pride any more for there work. the 101 freeway back in the days was a fresh spot to hit and i mean they took there time fills shadows and out lines not no lame as black and silvers well enough said because we can go on an on an on back and forth oh and i hope my spelling is to your liking .....peace ...PS.. people please practice your skills on paper not the wall because i am quick to call you toys...............

I agree with the "old guy" lol kids now a days are like tag bangers they catch one spot and they think they're the shit...

Anonymous said...

But...we ARE the shit!..lol...No matter what it was always better "back in the day" huh? ...Back in 69 when woodstock, or back in 1998 in Seattle, Back in NY before Giuliani, back when Reagan or even Bush was in power...Back when Rappers or punk rockers "Kept it real"...yes, very sad...I just hope I dont get to the point where I will think like that...

Anonymous said...

yea "back then" it made more of an impact on you because you were young but really if you can't get with the times no one gives a fuck about you so "old guy" I am pretty sure you were'nt even anyone for back in the day or now so just shut the fuck up and keep your 9-5 boring ass job and watch others do what you love......and be bitter

dont hate the player..just get out the game

Attack the system not each other...settle ur ish on the walls, battle rappng or breaking keep graff and hip hop alive

Anonymous said...

imma b boy battle that ass in the cypher I rock the young kids wearing diapers...respect the o.g

Wait i thought this book was about street art. isn't it? If you don't agree with graff being a part of the street art culture, go ahead. get on with your writing business. Art is about expression. Not typography alone. Stick with your funky fonts. I've got images to present so that viewers can interact with more than a name. I respect artists that respect me. Stupid prejudices dont deserve respect tho

trying to make a rip where there isnt one no matter how you do it its for the rush the art and not giving a fuck so my best advise is roll your rascal down the block hit something up and remember what its truly bout. youll always have your glory days and if you truly were about it in your day.. props but its a new dawn and as fast as it goes up and comes down it changes and enough ppl hate on street art with out artist bickering among themselves

It's about how you interpetate it if these hipsters are lame and uncreative, they won't make it in this world.and i have to say this thing is really making street art attractive to me
