CBS 2008

A lot of the walls in Los Angeles are being redone. This wall painted in 2008 by CBS crew has survived the times. I expect that it will get some new work on it soon.

Here is the latest graffiti freeway report from Los Angeles. It seems that spots are staying up longer. Maybe the city is running out of cash.

Antoine Dodson on Graffiti

JDI Save Haiti Video - Over 10,000 Views!!!

Save Haiti - JDI Crew - Otis Jaw Duart Hand
The video that started it all has reached over 10,000 views last month. This was the first video that we filmed for GraffHead.com.

This was painted right after the Haiti disaster. It featured Los Angeles' JDI crew painting a positive message to the people of Haiti. Jaw, Duart, Handle and Otis risk everything to get the message through. Save Haiti!

Check out more daytime pictures of the JDI crew's Save Haiti wall.

South Central Yard - Part 1

South Central Los Angeles has so much great graffiti. Last week I got lucky and was allowed by a building owner to come into his yard to take pictures. Most of the work was painted in 2007. A lot of the wall space was covered up but the upper part of the walls were all visible.

Hanging on the Freeway - JDI Crew

JDI - Downtown Los Angeles
Sometimes graffiti breaks away from the expected. Instead of following "rules", doing the same style over and over, doing the same letters over and over, some graffiti artists break away from it all.

The JDIs did it this time with a full color character on one of the busiest freeways in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles.

Last To Serve - South Central Los Angeles Graffiti Art Show Recap

On Sunday, September 12, 2010 we attended the Last To Serve graffiti show at Land Mark in South Central Los Angeles. Here are some pictures from the show. Unfortunately, many of the walls were covered since people were standing in front of them and I could not take pictures of all the artwork.

Thanks UTI WAI - Latest Work

A few weeks after I took this picture of Fear and Kofie, I went back to the same wall. This time I noticed a new Thanks piece. I am not sure if the gate was closed over his piece or Thanx painted it later. In either case, check out Thanks' insane fills.

SK8 RIP - New Wall

SK8 had tremendous influence over Los Angeles graffiti. It has been 17 years since he passed away and his legend and memory continues to be kept alive. This past June, I attended a memorial BBQ in SK8's honor and was amazed by how many people turned out to celebrate his memory. Update: March 2011 - new pictures of finished wall

This wall in Los Angeles has been continuously painted since SK8's passing to honor his memory. The latest one was completed about a month ago by members of Los Angeles' LOD crew. I also dipped into my archives and found some old pictures of this wall with each one remembering SK8.

Relax - It is Just Vandalism

Here are recent works of some Los Angeles graffiti writers. The public equates graffiti to murder. Without graffiti the city would be gray and boring just like communist North Korea.
